Help Wheels for Piglet Empty Help Wheels for Piglet

    Post  Piglet Hilux 2009-10-11, 04:04

As a few know I have a vibration problem with our Lux (03 xtracab) and I am now looking for a set of wheels, what I would like is some factory wheels, to replace the sunraysers that are on it.

So the question is what else fits it, Wyn went to a tyre place but all they want to do is sell her new aftermarket wheels, and I am a novice to the world of Lux, In fact I must admit am to being a fish out of water if it does not have a Ford Badge on it.

I want to keep the same size - not just as the coopers on it are good, but for our use the sizing seems fine.

So any advice would be appreciated

You could probably use Prado rims from the same era too.

Prado rims are 16" and the Hilux are 15" in the '03 models... as far as bolt patterns they are all identical but the alloy rims from a SR5 model won't fit unles you have the ADD fixed drive flanges as the manual hubs sit out too far.

    Thanks
What is the ADD Fixed drive flanges?

I have asked someone at home to look at the wheels to check their size but alas no one is there at the moment

the wheels on it are sunraysers, do they make those in 16's as that is what I thought they were (But I could be wrong) Would be a first lol! but you never know

Yeah they make the sunnies in 16"... that's what I have

the ADD's put fixed drive from the front axles to the hubs where as manual hubs (Toyota use Asin) you have to turn a dial on the front hub that engages a hub gear allowing drive to go to the hub/wheel.

    They look like this...

Never heard that before thinking , they did fit up perfectly on mine just the plastic caps can't go on the front cause the FWH's are out further as you say.
I used to have them on mine with IFS (27 or 26 spline??) AISIN FWH's.
